What is a Stroke?

Stroke refers to a condition in which the brain tissue is deprived of an adequate blood supply that may result from an injury, rupture of a blood vessel (Hemorrhage) or obstruction of blood flow (Ischemia). In addition to temporary or permanent loss of specific motor and sensory skills (weakness or paralysis, tingling, burning discomfort), memory loss often occurs.
