  HEADACHES MIGRAINE

A migraine is a type of headache in which pain is often intense and  increases to the point of becoming disabling. The International Headache Society has developed guidelines that describe a migraine separately from Tension, Cluster or other type.

A migraine headache refers to a headache that has recurred at least five times, lasts between 4 and 72 hours if untreated, is often unilateral, pulsating, moderate to severe in pain and is aggravated by routine physical activity. During the headache nausea or vomiting, light or sound hypersensitivity may occur. The headache may occur before the menstrual time or may be heralded by a warning before the pain.
